The League purchased the 523-acre property, formerly known as\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.savetheredwoods.org\/press-releases\/league-protects-andersonia-west-mendocino-redwoods\/\"><b>Andersonia West<\/b><\/a>, in July 2020. To ensure lasting protection and ongoing stewardship, the League donated and transferred the forest to the Sinkyone Council, and the Council granted the League a conservation easement.<\/p>\n<p>Through this partnership, the Sinkyone Council returns Indigenous presence to a land from which Sinkyone people were forcibly removed generations ago.\u00a0This forest\u00a0will again be known as\u00a0Tc\u2019ih-L\u00e9h-D\u00fb\u00f1\u00a0(pronounced\u00a0<em>tsih-ih-LEY-duhn<\/em>),\u00a0meaning \u201cFish Run Place\u201d in the Sinkyone language. <\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2>Learn
